Installation - 25mm Eduan Buddy and Float Valve

The 25mm Eduan Buddy and Float valve includes a locknut for securing the valve body to the tank or trough wall. In applications where the valve body needs to be spaced away from the tank or trough wall the locknut can be implemented inside the tank or trough. In such an application the locknut will clamp the tank or trough wall between the locknut and water supply fitting. DURING INSTALLATION ALWAYS CHECK THAT THE VALVE STEM IS BEHIND THE FLOAT ARM AS ILLUSTRATED IN THE PICTURE.

Rainwater Tanks - 25mm Eduan Tank float valve

Some clients use rainwater tanks as the supply to their irrigation systems. If the rainwater level in the tank drops below a minimum level, it is desirable to maintain the level with another water supply source like municipal water. Standard available float valves might require the drilling of a hole in the tank at the minimum level location in order to install the float valve. However the EDUAN Tank float valve can be installed in the top of the tank in the existing hole and does not require an additional hole in the tank. The rope of the EDUAN Tank float valve can then be adjusted to open the valve at any desirable minimum water level in the tank.

Tanks - Eduan Tank gauge

When installing an Eduan Tek tank gauge it is best to install it close to the tank hatch. At this location it is easier to feed the rope through, while accessing the tank inside via the hatch as illustrated in the picture below. It is also easier to first secure the long bracket in place via its self tapping screw and then the shorter bracket to ensure a horizontal orientatedcenter tube section

Float valve flow rates

To facilitate the calculation of water flow, the flow rate graphs for the 25mm and 40mm based float valves are supplied below. Note that the pressure on the horizontal axis is the dynamic pressure when the water is flowing with a fully opened valve. The static water pressure, when the valve is closed is always higher than the dynamic pressure.
